The Resume

    (February 9, 1935- )
Born in Dereham, Norfolk, England, United Kingdom
Birth name was Robert Lionel Fanthorpe
Anglican priest, author and paranormal investigator
Author or co-author of 250 books
President of the British UFO Research Association and the Association for the Scientific Study of Anamolous Phenomena
Frequent guest on 'Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell'
Hosted Channel 4's 'Fortean TV' (1997-98)

Why he might be annoying:

He used over 20 pen names while cranking out pulp fiction for Badger Books.
His preferred method of writing was to narrate his thoughts as they came into a tape that was then transcribed by the publisher's secretaries.
This technique would sometimes result in a character being killed off only to reappear without explanation in a later chapter.
Since Badger had a strict policy on book lengths, some of his novels wrap up the loose ends with a sudden deux ex machina, while others were blatantly padded to reach the needed length.
He performed an exorcism on a car with '666' in its license plates.
He claimed King Arthur was an extraterrestrial.

Why he might not be annoying:

He has been married to Patricia Fanthorpe for over 50 years.
Over a three year period, he averaged a book every twelve days.
He is a member of Mensa.
He is a qualified martial arts instructor.
Asked about Sinead O'Connor becoming a priest, he replied, 'I would say if the church can find space for guys like me, it can find room for everyone.'
