Why he might be annoying:

He reportedly killed a car wash worker for missing a smudge and a parking lot attendant for not retrieving his car fast enough.
His preferred murder technique was driving an ice pick through his victim's ear into the brain.
He avoided going to the chair for his crimes by testifying against other Murder, Inc., members.

Why he might not be annoying:

His testimony resulted in the conviction and execution of a half dozen hitmen plus Murder, Inc., co-leader Lepke Buchalter.
Shortly before he was to testify against Albert Anastasia, he fell to his death from a hotel room that was being guarded by six policemen.
Officially, he fell while trying to escape, but it was rumored that the guards had been bribed to toss him out the window.
He was called 'the canary who sang but couldn't fly.'
