He supposedly had an affair with Sophia Loren when she was married to Carlo Ponti.
RU-486 put him in the firestorm of the abortion debate.
That one invention overshadowed his other works involving anti-aging and depression management.

Why he might not be annoying:

His father, also a doctor, died when he was just four.
During World War II, he was part of the French Resistance.
His invention gave women a non-surgical abortion alternative.
He received numerous accolades for his research.
