Why they might be annoying:

    They root for a team that has yet to win a World Series.
    They stayed away from the park in droves due to poor team performance until they got their new ball park (2004).
    They root for the least popular pro sports team in all of California.
    In the middle of construction, the city ran out of money to fund PETCO Park so it took an extra year to complete.
    Many are content to toss a beach ball rather than watch the game.
    During Fan Appreciation Day, team president Chub Feeney gave the finger to two fans holding a 'Scrub Chub' sign (1988). Feeney resigned the next day.
    They witnessed Pittsburgh Pirate Dock Ellis' no-hitter. He admitted to throwing it while stoned on LSD (June 12, 1970).
    They eat fish tacos at the stadium.
    Games are interrupted when skunks, foxes or bees invade the field.
    Their manager, Preston Gomez, lifted Clay Kirby after throwing eight no-hit innings versus the Mets (1970).
    They never had a player throw a no-hitter or hit for the cycle (as of 2004).
    Team owner, Ray Kroc, berated his players on the PA saying 'I've never seen this much stupid ball-playing in my life.' in the eight inning of opening night, In the midst of his tirade a fan streaked the park (1974).

Why they might not be annoying:

    They booed and were embarrassed by Roseanne's disrespectful version of the Star Spangled Banner (July 25, 1990). President Bush called her rendition 'disgraceful.'
    They enjoy the most pleasant weather for their ball games.
    They get to attend a game named after a company that is on PETA's 'enemy list.'
    They built a park called the Park in the Park, where they can watch games for free.
    Some seats are equipped with computers on which they can order food and surf the internet.
    Their stadium features a 250 seat auditorium for the Padre Hall of Fame.
    Outside of the stadium, they can enjoy a beach.
    Their stadium is built on a street named after Padre great Tony Gwynn.
    They have a standing room section in left field.
    The love Ted Giannoulas, who performs as the San Diego Chicken.
    They get to cheer with their Swinging Friar mascot.
