Attorney

The Resume

    (December 22, 1960- )
    Born in Brooklyn, New York
United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois (2001- )
Member of the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Special Counsel
Federal prosecutor of Lewis 'Scooter' Libby in the Valerie Plame scandal (2005-2007)

Why he might be annoying:

He shares his name with a college football coach and a British singer.
He is a devout Irish Catholic.
Some complained his cases, such as the George Ryan and Scooter Libby scandals, were based on circumstantial evidence.
    He is a pretty boy.
In the summer of 2005, there were rumors that he would not be reappointed to a second four-year term in retaliation for his investigations into corruption in Illinois and Chicago government, and his investigation of the Plame scandal.
Conservative commentator Christopher Hitchens criticized him saying that Richard Armitage was the primary source of the Valerie Plame leak and that Fitzgerald knew this at the beginning of his investigation.
A month later, Armitage claimed that Fitzgerald had instructed him not to go public with this information.

Why he might not be annoying:

He received degrees in economics and mathematics at Amherst College.
He played rugby during his time at Amherst.
He was the lead prosecutor against Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman and 11 others involved in the 1993 New York World Trade Center bombing.
Incidentally, he was one of several prosecutors investigating Osama Bin Laden well before the 9/11 attacks happened.
Because of his genius and dedication to fighting corruption and crime, he has been compared to Eliot Ness.
He also was a key prosecutor in the Rod Blagojevich scandal (2008-2010).
He was mentioned in 'People' Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive issue (2005).
