U.S. Governor

The Resume

    (October 15, 1944- )
    Born in Camden, Alabama
Governor of Alabama (Sworn in April 10, 2017 )
    Formerly Alabama Lieutenant Governor (2011-17)
    Alabama State Treasurer (2003-11)
Elected to serve a full term as Alabama's governor (November, 2018)

Why she might be annoying:

During her time as state treasurer, the state's affordable college tuition program nearly imploded.
She ran for office and served in government positions as a Democrat until 2002, when she officially changed party affiliation.
Despite having no children and being twice divorced, she has taken hardline stances against abortion rights and gay marriage.
She signed H.B. 314 into law, arguably the most restrictive reproductive rights law in the country, criminalizing abortion in almost all cases including rape/incest, excepting only instances where the life of the mother/fetus is threatened (May 15, 2019).

Why she might not be annoying:

She was raised on a cattle farm by a World War II veteran father.
She has been active in politics since high school.
She is only the second woman in the state’s history to serve as Governor (but is the first female Republican to do so).
As the acting governor, she handily weathered the state's publicity surrounding Roy Moore's Senate run amid sexual misconduct allegations.
She was praised by President Donald Trump for her handling of recovery efforts in the aftermath of a category-four hurricane that devastated Alabama, calling her 'a great Governor.'
