The Resume

    (1899- )
    Founded by David Dunbar Buick
Headquartered in Detroit, Michigan (headquartered originally in Flint)
Formally known as the Buick Motor Division
Originated as the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company
American automobile division of the American manufacturer General Motors
Oldest active American marque of automobile
Sold a record 1,170,115 vehicles worldwide in the 2014 calendar year
Manufacturers of the Roadmaster, Super, Limited, Special, Century, Invicta, LeSabre, Electra, Skylark, Apollo, Wildcat, Skyhawk, Gran Sport, Regal, Rainier, and Encore
Positioned by GM to be an analogue to its German Opel brand, sharing models, development, and promotional campaigns (2009)

Why Buick might be annoying:

    That's not a Buick!
They are stereotyped as 'old people rides.'
Their warranty policies have been known to suck.
It relied on many cheesy ad slogans over the years ('Buick's The Buy,' 'Red, White, and Buick,' etc.)
Tiger Woods was the spokesman for its first line of SUVs.
Their parts are known for failing quickly, having electrical problems, and for having engine blocks that crack.
Some of their commercials have been accused of race baiting ('Looks like the Garcias got a new car... maybe he got a raise').
It came up with the biggest television contract up to that point, with Jackie Gleason, calling for 78 half-hour episodes based on his show's 'Honeymooners' sketches, with a total value of $11 million.
Gleason subsequently shocked his fans, his network, and the company sponsor by cancelling Buick's multimillion dollar contract and ending The Honeymooners with only one season; claiming that he didn't want to 'scrape the bottom of the barrel' for new episode ideas (Sept. 1956).

Why Buick might not be annoying:

They didn't manufacture the 1957 Edsel.
Its initial success is believed to have led to the creation of General Motors.
It supplied more than 2,500 M18 Hellcat tank destroyers for the Allied cause during WWII.
It surpassed Ford and Cadillac as the number one producer of vehicles; at 8,820 units (1908).
It built its one-millionth vehicle just shy of its 20th birthday.
It is among the oldest automobile brands in the world, and is the oldest active North American automotive maker.
Its debut of the sleek, black two-passenger Y-Job convertible has been called 'the world's first concept car' (1938).
It pioneered the use of turn signals, which did not appear on other car brands until almost a decade later (1939).
It was the favored vehicle make for many of Hollywood's Golden Age stars (including Cary Grant, Bette Davis, Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Will Rogers, and Alan Ladd).
It made a miraculous comeback following the discontinuation of Saturn in 2009, with a revitalized ad campaign (#ThatsaBuick) and a reviving of the once-popular 24-Hour test drive promotion.
All things aside; Buick is to General Motors what Coca-Cola is to soft drinks (familiar, enduring, and a wholly American institution).
