Why he might be annoying:

He married Felicity Heywood in March 1964 and secretly divorced her.
He then married Sandy Watson in 1979 and divorced her in 1989.
He gave in to executives and changed 'Blade Runner's' ending (1982). In the '90s he released the original director's cut and 'Blade Runner' was recognized as great sci-fi.
His films 'Legend,' 'Someone to Watch Over Me,' '1492: Conquest of Paradise,' 'White Squall' and 'G.I. Jane' all flopped.
Enya's dedicated her recording 'Aldebaran' to him (1986).

Why he might not be annoying:

He ranked #31 (2001) in Entertainment Weekly's Power List.
He owns London based, Mill Film, who did most of the special effects work on 'Gladiator.'
His films feature beautiful visuals and important female characters.
'Blade Runner' is a cult classic.
He was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Director for 'Thelma & Louise' and 'Gladiator.'
Although he directed a commercial that was only shown once, it is considered the greatest commercial of all times, it was for the MAC computer with a 1984 theme (1984 Superbowl).
It sparked the idea for mega commercials during the Superbowl.
