Why she might be annoying:

She had an affair with Louis Leakey, with him eventually leaving his wife for her.
In turn, Louis Leakey cheated on her several times, causing a rift in their marriage.
Her life's work is discredited by Creationists.
The scientific community debates whether she should be considered an anthropologist or an archaeologist.
She was expelled from two Catholic schools for poor behavior.

Why she might not be annoying:

Many in the scientific community consider her to be a better anthropologist than Louis Leakey.
The National Geographic Society presented her with the prestigious Gold Hubbard Medal (1962).
She discovered the first fossil skull of a primate from the Miocene era.
She was an incredibly talented artist, which helped launch her scientific career.
Time Magazine named her as one of their ‘Most Important People of the Twentieth Century (1998).'
