The Resume

    (May 9, 1912-June 18, 1963)
    Born in Mexico City, Mexico
Appeared in the Hollywood films 'The Fugitive' (1947), 'Fort Apache' (1948), '3 Godfathers' (1948), 'We Were Strangers' (1949), 'The Conqueror' (1956), 'The Wonderful Country' (1959) and 'From Russia with Love' (1963)

Why he might be annoying:

He was often asked to 'enhance' his Mexican accent for American films.
Although Mexican, his most famous role -- Kerim Bey in 'From Russia with Love' -- was a Turk.
The shooting schedule for 'From Russia with Love' had to be re-arranged because of his failing health, and in some takes either his stunt double or director Terence Young stood in for him.
He committed suicide using a gun he had smuggled into the hospital.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was discovered by a Mexican director while reciting Hamlet's 'To be or not to be' soliloquy to some American tourists.
He was nicknamed 'the Clark Gable of Mexico.'
In addition to Hollywood and his native Mexico, he also made films in France and Italy.
He was a jury member at the Cannes Film Festival (1961).
He was one of several cast members of 'The Conqueror' to develop cancer, allegedly as a result of shooting at a location downwind from a nuclear bomb test site.
His son Pedro, Jr., was also an actor and also appeared in a Bond film, 'License to Kill' (1989).
