Why he might be annoying
When New York City was on the verge of bankruptcy, he refused to aid them.
When inflation soared well above double digits he pioneered an idea for Americans to wear a pin that said WIN (Whip Inflation Now).
His wife, Betty Ford, was a substance abuser.
He granted Nixon a 'full, free and absolute pardon' (Sept. 8, 1974).
Why he might not be annoying
He replaced Vice President, Spiro Agnew, who resigned after pleading nolo contendere (no contest) to income tax evasion (December 6, 1973).
He later replaced President Nixon, who resigned to avoid being impeached and thrown out of office (August 9, 1974).
Despite being a Republican, he is closest friends with Democrat, Jimmy Carter, the man who defeated him for President.
His wife started the Betty Ford Clinic.
He survived two assassination attempts, both by women, Sarah Jane Moore and Lynnette 'Squeaky' Fromme.
He is left handed.
He suffers from hemorrhoids.
The Vietnam War ended during his administration.
