Why he might be annoying:

He abused cocaine and hashish.
While drunk, he would strip naked at social gatherings.
He stole stone from building sites to get material for his sculptures.
He threw his mistress Beatrice Hastings through a window.
He had affairs with dozens of his models.
While on his deathbed, he suggested that his model/lover Jeanne Hebuterne join him in death so 'I can have my favorite model in paradise and with her enjoy eternal happiness.'
The day of Modigliani's funeral, Hebuterne threw herself from a fifth-floor window.

Why he might not be annoying:

When he contracted typhoid fever at age 14, his biggest worry was that he might die before he could see the classic Renaissance paintings in Florence.
He was a prolific artist, who would produce a hundred drawings in a week.
His one solo exhibition was closed by Paris police because the nudes were considered too sensual.
He was influenced by African sculptures.
