Why Survivor 3: Africa might be annoying
Unexpectedly, the tribes were forced to trade some of their castaways midway through the game.
Silas, who thought he had a great game plan as a Samburu, got screwed by the swap, as his new tribe Boran immediately voted him out.
Following the trade, Boran tanked the first immunity challenge so they could get rid of Silas.
They featured two Kims in the same game.
They had to put up with Lex's tattoos and Big Tom's idiotic redneck utterings.
They focused a lot on the faults of an African-American, Clarence from Boran.
In the Final Four's immunity challenge, Lex got one question technically right, but they marked him wrong for it.
As a result, producers awarded Lex $100,000 (equal to the 2nd place award) to avoid litigation.
They also awarded Tom $100K, since they figured the Final Four's order of finish might have been different had Lex's controversial question been marked right after all.
Although they kept the final vote secret until the live finale, they made it look like it was revealed at the final Tribal Council.
When the winning vote was announced, an audience erupted into applause, thus revealing that they were no longer in Africa, but back in the U.S.
Why Survivor 3: Africa might not be annoying
The finalists played a classy game all the way to the end.
The scene where Lex visited an African village brought added awareness to the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa.
The players were stalked by a lion during part of the game.
They proved that one could play a fair game and still win Survivor.
