Why he might be annoying
He killed himself with drugs at 33 (1982).
He was manic depressive.
He had a short attention span and was quite mercurial.
His grades were so poor that he had to leave college for junior college.
He continually lied to his wife promising he was stopping his cocaine addiction.
His supplier and drug using companion, Cathy Smith, was sentenced to three years for supplying him with drugs.
Why he might not be annoying
Although he nailed the part of Bluto in 'Animal House,' he never attended (probably wasn't invited either) a fraternity party.
He was co-captain of his high school football team.
His 'coke no pepsi' diner owner character was a tribute to his father who owned a diner.
