Why he might be annoying:

    He was short, fat and wimpy.
    He was a critical person.
    He had issues with authority.
    He deserted Brutus’ army at the Battle of Philippi.

Why he might not be annoying:

    His father was a freed slave who scrimped and saved to get him a good education.
    When he got back from the war, his father was dead, and the Empire had seized his family property.
    He is known for his good-humored satire.
    Queen Elizabeth I liked his poems and translated them into English.
    Scholars consider him one of the greatest Latin poets in history.
    He came up with the concept of ‘carpe diem’ (‘seize the day’), which was used in the popular film ‘Dead Poets Society.’
