Why he might be annoying
He has never won the French Open, nor appeared in a French Open final.
He has absolutely no charisma.
He is a boring workman like player who plays without emotion (rare exception after Tim Gullickson's death).
He kept secret that he was of Greek Jewish descent until it was uncovered in a Sports Illustrated article.
He vomited several times on the court while playing Alex Corretja in a quarter-finals match during the United States Open (1996).
He won that match and then hugged his girlfriend, Delaina Mulcahy.
Why he might not be annoying
He rarely argues with referees or linesman.
He is considered a sports gentleman.
He is the top tennis player of all time.
He won over the crowd when he became emotional over the death of his coach, Tim Gullickson (died of a brain tumor at 44).
On what would have been Tim's 45th birthday, Pete won the match and broke down and cried uncontrollably thinking of Gullickson (1996).
