The Emmy Awards were first presented for the year 1948 on January 25, 1949. (The annual awards were presented for the year prior). In 1959, the awards were presented for a TV season (1958-59). Starting in 1959, we use the year of presentation, thus there are no awards for 1958. Also due to the fact that award names have changed, no one else has compiled Emmy Awards by category - this is very unofficial.
